Темы об автоспорте в СССР и царской России" здесь уже есть, так почему не воссоздать и обсуждение о Кубке дружбы социалистических стран?
Недавно я упоминал на TNF, что планирую разместить там английские переводы своих обзоров Кубков дружбы 1986-1990 годов, которые были напечатаны на форуме "Формулы". Так вот, для начала я хотел бы их поместить здесь, чтобы вы смогли подправить мои ошибки. Итак, розыгрыш Кубка 1986 года:
1986 Cup of Friendship
In 1986 Cup of Friendship the USSR team was obvious favorite. First time in Formula Easter Soviet drivers had got good equipment. New car Estonia-21M was much better than seven years old SRG-MT77 of the GDR team and Czechoslovakian Metalex-106. Also engineers at Research Institute of Tyre Industry had prepared new tyres special for Cup of Friendship. It was one of the best rubber in this Cup. Also the power of VAZ engines was increased (before this time, the same engines but forced by CSSR and GDR teams had great advantage compared with standard engines of Soviet team). But Soviet engines were forced not at the factory, but at small garages of Soviet mechanics, and this was affected on reliability. In the end, Soviet drivers won four victories in six races (in Hungary USSR team didn't start), but because of bad results in other races they can't won Cup. The best result of Soviet drivers was six place of Victor Kozankov. In the team classification the USSR team was only fourth.
Resembling situation was in touring racing. VAZ-2105 was a little bit quicker than Czechoslovakian Skoda, but had more worse aerodynamic and the greater weight. But the main problem for Soviet drivers like in Formula Easter was reliability of their cars.
Drivers from USSR won four victories in touring category, but in the other races they had problems with gearboxes and ignition. Because of it Alexey Grigoriev was second in the Cup only two points behind Vazlav Tomashek. In the team championship the USSR team was only third.Сергей Беднарук38287,8534837963
