When the FIA ended Formula Junior, they decided upon a simple F3 series, and also F2 for 1 litre race engines and F1 graded drivers. For three years these sophisticated race cars were virtually Grand Prix cars, but with smaller engines, and driven by the top F1 drivers set new records. Race reports of the period acclaimed F2 as providing outstanding races.
The all conquering Cosworth SCA motor had competition firstly from BRM and then was finally challenged in 1966 by the twin overhead cam shaft, fuel injected 16 valve Honda motor.

This Limited Edition book, tells the story of how Lotus developed its cars from the dual purpose FJ & F2 Lotus type 27, through the types 32 and 35. In the final year of the formula, the Ron Harris - Team Lotus entry was just a team of three type 44 cars.
The book deals with ALL the cars and engines that competed, and by means of individual race reports and end of year summaries brings to life these superb but rarely seen cars.
Perhaps as a result of the book they could be encouraged out to race again with the GP cars of the period.
